My son wasn't thrilled with the camp because he said his morning trainer was not fun and was very hostile toward the kids. He really liked his afternoon trainer though. He said she had fun with the kids and was patient. He did learn a lot while he was there and I feel that the experience was very valuable over all. My son came home with a wealth of information about the space programs and outer space in general. That was the point of his attending the camp to begin with. Goal achieved!
Family space camp was everything we hoped it would be. It’s rare to leave a spot and have all three kids (ages 8, 10, 13) say how much they loved a place. The bunk beds aren’t the most comfortable but it’s camp. So if you can bring a thin blow up pad for a sleeping bag do it. 100% worth the money for the experience. The cafeteria food was good although they always ran out of the salad bar. I’m gluten free and they always had an option for me.
Awesome place to visit with kids. Lots of scientific and historical knowledge gained through simulators and documentaries
My daughter had an amazing time. One of the best experiences she’s ever had in summer camp setting everything went extremely smoothly. Highly recommend I really like the fact that you don’t have to pay for the whole thing all upfront that you can pay half of it and then they give you until I believe it’s six weeks before departure to finish paying it off, which is super helpful She’s really into aviation I really believe that experiences like this really do help mold and influence positivity, and to a child’s life and memories
pretty nice, although the bedrooms are pretty bad, and there are not many options for people with diet restrictions the food there is pretty good and the people there are friendly and welcoming i’ve gone there for 3 years now coming up on my 4th here in a couple of weeks and the counselors are always lovely, just what really kinda made me mad was that when going to the man made lake as an activity they made the girls wear long shorts and a t shirt whenever swimming while the boys were allowed just to wear their normal swim trunks, maybe it’s because i’m from MN and it’s not really a normal thing for women to have to wear a full on outfit over their one piece bathing suits but it really irritates me so it ruins the whole activity but besides that one activity that always is so irritating , the rest is pretty fun, the missions are cool and the rides are so fun!! I do definitely think there’s many things that they can improve for sure with the amount of money they get from the admission fees (with it being $3,000+ per person)but overall it’s nice
It's one of the most amazing sites to visit!! Safe and secure site. As well as the Botanical Gardens are breath taking! Hot today in Alabama 99 degrees!!
Kids went here for a recent Space Camp. Had an amazing time, can't stop talking about the awesome activities, seeing the exhibits and making a ton of friends! Register early and make sure to read up on the FB parent groups for the best tips of what to bring and pack for your kids.
This is a once in a lifetime experience for your child. Book early because places fill up. The kids are housed in a "habitat" and get to do a low key version of astronaut training. My grandson will remember it forever and talked about it non stop. You drop the kids (ages 12-14) off Sunday afternoon and pick them up Friday or you can make it a family vacation and stay with them.
